It's sometimes hard to say whether it's the movies, or the women who star in them, who light up the award season, beginning with the Globes and ending with the Oscars each season. In their films, they must dress as they're told by the director, their wardrobe dictated by the need to properly enhance the role. But at the award shows the stars are free to display their own personal style, choosing the fashion designers, hairdo's and accessories that show themselves off as the beautiful creatures they play in real life.

Here is a small selection of some of the most beautiful women in the whole world- playing their true starring roles - as themselves!
