Only in their mid-twenties now, the stars of the Harry Potter movies could have retired before hitting puberty with the fortunes they made on the eight film adaptations of the wildly popular book series by J.K. Rowling. From the time the first film premiered in 2001, to the last in 2011, the public has kept a close eye on the talented actors portraying the brave, young wizards destined to save their world from dark magic.

Harry Potter Books 1 to 4To children reading the Harry Potter series at the time of their release (published in the U.S. by Scholastic from June 1998 - July 2007), the adolescent fans grew up with the characters in the books, following their wild adventures filled with wondrous magic, laughs and even love. Fans were ecstatic to relive the fascinating stories through the Warner Brothers film adaptations, and soon the young actors were just as (if not more) famous than the characters they played on the big screen.

Harry Potter Anniversary EditionHarry Potter continues to enchant fans of all ages, from all parts of the world. It was announced in February that Scholastic will release a new set of paperbacks in September to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling, featuring new cover art by Kazu Kibuishi. Also, Universal Orlando Resort is working on adding even more shops, restaurants and attractions to the already successful “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” inside Islands of Adventure theme park, to be open by next year.

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, and Neville Longbottom will be known by generations young and old for years to come, but the actors who play them have since moved on. Now that their days of witchcraft and wizardry are over, what have these stars been up to?

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)
Daniel RadcliffeRadcliffe gained international celebrity after taking on the lead role of boy wizard in the Harry Potter franchise’s eight films. Thanks to those round spectacles and trademark lightning-shaped scar, Radcliffe is now worth a whopping $80M, according to Celebrity Networth. Just 12-years-old when the first Potter film was released, the dashing young star turns 24 this month, sharing a birthday with the author of this article!

Radcliffe famously portrayed Alan Strang in the 2007 London revival of the play Equus; the role caused controversy as the then 17-year-old Radcliffe was required to perform some of the scenes completely nude. He starred opposite Richard Griffiths, who played Vernon Dursley, Harry Potter’s hot-tempered uncle, in the Potter films. “then transferred to Broadway, at the Broadhurst Theatre, running through 8 February 2009. Radcliffe and Griffiths later reprised their roles, and Thea Sharrock returned as director. Radcliffe eventually received a nomination for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Play.

Daniel RadcliffeRadcliffe took the lead role in last year’s drama/thriller The Woman in Black, and has two films set to release this October, 2013. Premiering on October 11 is the dark fantasy thriller Horns, in which he plays a young man who awakens to find strange horns sprouting from his temples, in the aftermath of his girlfriend’s mysterious death. Then, out on October 17, Radcliffe plays Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, which follows three great poets of the beat generation following a murder in 1944. This summer, he also stars as the lead in the London stage play revival of Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy, The Cripple of Inishmaan, which is the play’s first major London revival since its premiere in 1996.

Radcliffe openly admitted recently that he’s convinced he could never take on the iconic role of James Bond, taking his shorter stature (he’s 5’5”) into account. He also expressed that he’s interested in more bad-boy roles, stating, "I would make a much better villain than Bond. I am not nearly strapping enough to play Bond."

But what about his love-life? As the star of the huge Harry Potter franchise, his personal life is the most scrutinized. Radcliffe is a self-confessed workaholic, balancing his time between the stage and the screen. But he’s also known for being a laid-back kind of guy who doesn’t seek the limelight; rather, it just searches for him. His love life is no different, as he attempts to maintain  normal relationships, and tabloids do their best to fish out what they can anyway.

After splitting with his girlfriend of two years, Rosie Coker, this past October, Radcliffe was reported to be seeing Erin Drake, his co-star in Kill Your Darlings, where he plays young Allen Ginsberg. They met on set, and after being seen at Sundance together, many believed this was the young actor’s new girl. He kissed her openly, which is rare for the young wizard as he is not prone to public displays of affection.

Thus far, the actor has not commented on that matter. He was also spotted with a  new mystery woman shortly after that romantic kiss at Sundance. Perhaps his reluctance to attach himself to Erin  may be because he is looking for a serious relationship, as he has recently hinted through U.K.’s The Independent that he is thinking seriously about having kids. Perhaps Radcliffe is seeking something real and with substance, not just another celebrity fling.

Hermione and HarryEmma Watson (Hermione Granger)
Born Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson in Paris, France, Emma Watson (age 23) has taken the movie industry by storm. First capturing hearts around the world as the female lead Hermione in the Harry Potter film series, Watson is now branching out to establish her own identity in a string of new releases.

From cutting off her long brown locks, to starring in such movies as The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Watson is continuously in the spotlight. A gifted actress, she has also made waves in the modeling industry for her skill in posing for the world's best photographers.

Watson has appeared on numerous magazine covers. After becoming the youngest person to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue in 2005, she has since been spotted on the cover of such big name publications as Glamour, Vogue, Elle, and Seventeen.

Emma WatsonHer success on film cameras has also been recognized, and Watson has won everything from Young Artist’s Awards to MTV Movie Awards.

One would think that, after being a part of the Harry Potter family for so many years, this young star would look back at her time making the films with sadness, knowing that those times will never come again. On the contrary, this star looks to the future with optimism.

While discussing The Perks of Being a Wallflower in an interview with Glamour magazine, Watson said “Making this movie was so pivotal for me because I realized I do really want to be an actress, which wasn’t something I fully knew, since Harry Potter was such a singular experience.”

Emma WatsonWatson took on her first non-Potter role in-between filming the Harry Potter movies, starting with the 2007 BBC film Ballet Shoes. She next brought the character of Princess Pea to life vocally in the animated film The Tale of Despereaux, released in 2008, which also starred Harry Potter co-star Robbie Coltrane, who played the beloved character of Rubeus Hagrid. Watson also appeared in a music video for the band One Night Only in 2010.

In 2011 Watson took on the role of Lucy in My Week with Marilyn, with The Perks of Being a Wallflower which was released the following year. She was well reviewed for her performance of Sam, the fun-loving friend of the lead role, Charlie.  Her most recent work, The Bling Ring, was released on June 14 of this year. Watson also played herself in the comedy This Is the End (2013), appearing alongside such big names as Seth Rogen, Rihanna, and Paul Rudd.

The actress is represented by the modeling agency Storm Model Management. Watson made her modeling debut for Burberry’s 2009 autumn/winter campaign, and announced in March 2011 that she had been chosen in as the face of Lancôme. She has appeared in men’s magazine FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women list for six years running.

Hermione Harry and RonThis superstar may be talented and beautiful, but she has also has more than her fair share of brains. Watson spent 18 months at Brown University before taking a break from her studies in March 2011 to advertise the release of the second Deathly Hallows film. She continued her education at Worcester College, Oxford University. Watson recently postponed her senior year of college until further notice, in order to work on film projects.

Watson may be young, but her work on screen has paid off: She is reportedly worth $50M, according to Celebrity Networth. The star continues to be immensely popular, logging a whopping eight million followers on Twitter at the time this article was written.

The Harry Potter films may have come to a close, but the future of this young star certainly hasn't. Keep an eye on her, for it seems that she will be making waves in the entertainment industry for many years to come!

Emma and BoyfriendAs with many young starlets, Watson’s young fans are endlessly fascinated with just who holds Emma’s heart. Her on again/ off again romance with boyfriend Will Adamowicz has caught the attention of many celebrity blogs and magazines, from E! to Perez Hilton. And same with the kiss that started all the hype surrounding Emma and Adam again when they were caught at JFK International Airport together on June 25th.

This was the first photo of the couple in months, due to Emma’s growing career. Many remarked at how amazing she still looked without makeup,  and the fact she was “jet-setting” around the world with her boyfriend. It seems all Emma wants is some time away from the cameras after filming her latest, Bling Ring. It seems she is beginning to really understand just what this “fame game” is all about, given the look on her face in this picture. We will always remember Hermione Granger, but now we’re in love with Emma Watson!
The Outsiders Ron and MalfoyRupert Grint (Ron Weasley)
Rupert Grint played Ron Weasley, the arachnophobic ginger and Potter’s loyal best friend who lent some comic relief to the franchise, which got darker as the films progressed. Grint worked on other projects in between Potter films, starring in 2009’s Wild Target with English actress Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, Looper). Taking a break from the black wizard robes worn in the films, Grint and co-star Tom Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy) took a cue from Watson’s interest in fashion and were featured in the campaign for the 2011 autumn/winter collection of the fashion label Band of Outsiders.

After the Potter series, Grint, who turns 25 next month, played in 2012’s Into the White, a World War II-themed film directed by Norwegian actor and film director Petter Næss. Due to release in the UK this November, Grint landed a role in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, which follows the story of a Charlie Countryman (Shia LeBeouf) who falls for a woman (Evan Rachel Wood) who's claimed by a violent crime boss.

We’re most excited about Grint’s portrayal of Cheetah Chrome, an American guitarist of punk rock band The Dead Boys in CBGB, currently in post-production. The film takes a look at the New York City punk-rock scene and the venerable nightclub, CBGB. It also stars Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory), Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy), Stana Katic (ABC’s Castle), Malin Akerman, Ashley Greene, and more.

Maybe one of the most down to Earth actors in the group, Rupert Grint is not trying to capture just any and every girl’s heart. Instead, he says he’s looking for a real relationship to present itself to him, and not just grab up the scores of female fans that beckon him. He hasn’t attached himself to anyone in particular since his split with Kimberly Nixon in 2009, and since the completion of the Harry Potter franchise, Grint’s remained single. He isn’t looking for just anyone, and he enjoys being with friends and getting to know who he really is, rather than just jumping into relationship after relationship with no avail.

Draco and Harry duelTom Felton (Draco Malfoy)
After playing Hogwarts’ school bully, Draco Malfoy, for close to ten years, Felton (25) took on another bad boy role in Rise of the Planet of the Apes alongside James Franco in 2011. He then starred in the paranormal thriller The Apparition with Ashley Greene of Twilight fame in 2012.

Felton’s next starring role will be in a remake of Therese, a crime drama set to release in September. The film centers on Therese Raquin (Elizabeth Olsen), a sexually repressed beautiful young woman in the lower echelons of 1860s Paris, who is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Felton), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (Jessica Lange). Things heat up when Therese meets her husband’s alluring friend, Laurent (played by the tall, dark and handsome Oscar Isaac).

Tom Felton and girlfriend fianceIt was recently announced that Felton will co-star in TNT’s drama/murder mystery pilot Murder in the First, which centers on two San Francisco PD homicide detectives as they take on a case full of twists and turns. Felton will play Erich Blunt, the cocky, extremely wealthy CEO of Applicon, a tech genius.

As we all have learned since the completion of the series, Felton and Draco do not have that much in common. He’s been in a long term relationship with Jade Olivia for sometime now, with their last reported outing together occurring just before Comic Con, as the two were out walking Felton’s dog Timber. When it comes to sustainability in relationships, Felton seems to be the only ex-Potter vet who seems to be contempt with his love life. His relationship with Jade isn’t abused by Hollywood tabloids, nor is it over-played. The two still seem very happy together, and here at Dish we hope for the best for these two, as they are rumored to be engaged.

NevilleMatthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)
No one paid much attention to clumsy, chubby, kid wizard Neville Longbottom until he magically woke up super attractive one day, inspiring some pretty hilarious memes. For example, the sadly nonexistent, “How to Successfully Travel Through Puberty: A Guide By Matt Lewis”. Another uses a group photo with Lewis, Grint, Radcliffe and Felton with a caption that reads, “That awkward moment when Neville becomes the hottest.” Yet another shows before and after images, reading “That awkward moment when Neville Longbottom becomes Neville Sexybottom.”

Grint spoke on Lewis’s becoming transformation, saying, “Even in the fourth film, poor Matt still had some crappy fat suit, prosthetic teeth and things to make his ears stick out, so people thought that was how he looked, but underneath he had changed.”

NevilleLewis, who turned 23 last month, has since kept his career on the other side of the Atlantic. After the Potter series ended, he starred in a few British works in 2012, including Night of the Loving Dead, a zombie short film directed by Anna Humphries. He also took one of the lead roles in The Rise, about a young Englishman recently released from prison who recruits his three best friends to rob the local drug kingpin responsible for his incarceration. The same year, he had a recurring role in a UK television drama, The Syndicate, about five poor workers in a supermarket in Leeds whose lives turn upside down after they jointly win the lottery.

Lewis has been rumored to have had relations with many of the female starts from the Harry Potter franchise, including Emma Watson, Bonnie Wright (Ginnie Weasley), and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood). Most people are used to seeing him with Alison Wynd, and the two were last seen together in January at the premiere of his new project Wasteland. But rumor has it that he is no longer with her, and is single. The recently turned 24-year-old, (his birthday was on June 27th), is not rumored to be seeing anyone special at this time. In fact, the young star is so discreet, finding him talking to, or even in the presence of a potential leading lady is impossible. It seems he, like his friend Rupert, has not let fame go to his head and wishes to go about his life, career and romance included, just like any other man. Privately.

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory)
Though Pattinson (27) was not necessarily a main character in the Potter series, we obviously couldn’t leave him out of this lineup. True Pattinson fans know that after dying an untimely death as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire during the Triwizard tournament at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, R. Patz came back to life as a Edward Cullen, Stephenie Meyer’s glittering, gorgeous teen vampire from the Twilight series.

Pattinson went from little known pretty boy to household name after the first Twilight film was released, sparking a vampire vs. werewolf phenomenon...

Pattinson stayed in the press after the film series ended for his on-again off-again relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart (or K. Stew). He went on to star in the film adaption of the hit novel “Water For Elephants” in 2011 alongside Reese Witherspoon and had two films released in 2012, Cosmopolis and Bel Ami.

Cedric and HarryHis next starring role will be as Reynolds in The Rover, a dirty and dangerous near-future Western set in the Australian desert. The film is currently in post-production and also stars Guy Pearce (The Hurt Locker) and Scoot McNairy (Argo). Aside from acting, Pattinson has put his model looks to good use and recently scored a campaign as the face of Dior Homme, Dior’s top fragrance for men.

His short stint on the Harry Potter franchise paved Pattinson’s way to his current “boy candy” status, and the obsession of nearly every woman from tween to mom with his role as Edward Cullen, in the remarkable Twilight franchise. His rumored and topsy-turvy relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart has long had fans and fanatics alike following their relationship.

The two have dated, even rumored to be engaged and secretly wed, but sources say Pattinson is now single, having finally split from Kristen earlier this year. He is rumored to be seeing Katy Perry, though the two affirm they are “just friends,” as well as English playwright, Polly Stenham.  Just recently, on June 26, Pattinson was reported leaving  the Chateau Marmont, in West Hollywood during the early hours, with an unknown brunette girl and “the two seemed to be ecstatic with each other.”  But this does not necessarily mean it is anything serious.

Since the completion of the Twilight  franchise, Pattinson has been focusing more on his film career, as he has begun to take on more rigorous roles, including his upcoming part in the action war film Mission Blacklist. So for those of you still holding on to the hope that you will one day be Mrs. Pattinson, as of right now, you still have that chance.
