Engagement PartyAnnouncing, the newest member of the royal family’s favorite closet, the Issa Collection for Banana Republic! For all you provincical fashionistas here in the USA, Issa is a London-based clothing retailer that Prince William’s wifey, better known as Kate Middleton, has put on the map; the retailer recently released a collection in collaboration with international brand Banana Republic.

The limited edition collection is being described as “fit for a queen but made for you”, and is all about modern royal style. Partly inspired by Middleton’s sophisticated fashion sense, it fuses safari chic with a timeless look. If you want to see it for yourself, head over to select Banana Republic stores and deck yourself out, royal-highness style (sorry girls, English Prince not included with purchase).

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is an Issa fan, and had women around the world falling in love with the silk, blue Issa Classic Wrap Dress she wore to the royal couple’s engagement announcement in November, 2010. It was the perfect ladylike look for the bride-to-be. The ruching around the bust and wrap belt around the waist were ultra flattering, and the length of the skirt and sleeves kept it conservative. The V-neckline was just low enough to be sexy while not revealing too much. You can get the same dress in Petrol Green for £565 at

Wrap DressesThe Banana Republic (called BR) Issa Collection version has the same V-neck and wrap waist, with a belt that can be tied in front or back, three-quarter length sleeves and an invisible side zipper. Wrap dresses are all about versatility, and this one would be great for dinner with the in-laws, going out for drinks or a show, or even a work function. The Banana Republic Issa Collection Three-Quarter Sleeve Wrap-Tie Dress in Merlot is a more wallet-friendly $130, and is made of 50% Rayon, 28% Lyocell, 19% Cotton, and 5% Spandex.

The BR Issa Collection includes almost 40 pieces, many of which work as day to night pieces. Launched exclusively at select Banana Republic stores worldwide and online on August 8, this collection marks the first time that Issa has collaborated with a global retailer. Inspired by safari roots and the spirit of an exotic journey, the collection is full of feminine shapes, elegant draping, and beautiful colors that transition well from Summer to Fall. It also includes petite sizes and ranges in price from $69.50-$150.

The collection includes more nods to that dress, like the BR Issa Collection Wrap Top in ($55; available in black or red) and the BR Issa Collection Red Wrap-Tie Dress ($130). It also stays true to Middleton’s classic elegance, as seen with the BR Issa Collection Colorblock Cardigan ($79.50; available in black, navy, or red), made of luxurious silk and cotton.
Hand Bags Banana Republic Issa
Even the accessories are extremely versatile in that wear-with-everything kind of way, like the BR Issa Collection Envelope Clutch ($98; available in cognac and bone) and the BR Issa Collection Canvas Tote ($150). Get the royal jewels for a bargain, with the BR Issa Collection Gold Nugget Leather Cord Necklace ($79.50) and the BR Issa Collection Chain Link Bracelet ($45).
Issa made sure to keep the collection both functional and fun, using animal prints in neutral colors on classic shapes, as with the BR Issa Collection Olive Zebra Printed Ponte Dress ($130), the BR Issa Collection Olive Zebra-Printed Kimono Dress ($140), and the BR Issa Collection Printed White Wrap Top ($55; available in white and black). Add one trendy piece to your otherwise classic ensemble with the BR Issa Collection Animal Print Scarf ($59.50; available in red, turquoise or black).
