Celebrities are constantly in the news and all over social media because of scandals, wild behavior and the surgical transformations they’ve had done to their bodies! And we, the obsessed audience, eat up every bit of drama we can find. Is Kim Kardashian West really pregnant, or are she and Kanye using a surrogate?  What secrets are the Duggers hiding? Will Katy Perry go to war with Taylor Swift?

It’s so easy to get caught up in the exciting news of what’s really what? and who’s really who? and who’s really sleeping with who? plus more, of course.  Watching the extravagant lives of others build up or fall apart is what we’re used to, but what about all the good works the celebrities do behind the scene? Stars like Angelina, Bono and Sandra Bullock are known for their giving hearts and hands, but they’re not the only ones. Artists, movie stars and TV personalities who most likely aren’t on your top 50 list for giving have some of the most caring souls behind those tired party eyes.

Miley CyrusWe all know Miley Cyrus, that adorable Hannah Montana from the Disney Channel who turned into the molly-popping singer who loves to twerk-- and making art out of things she hoards in her house while smoking weed. Despite all the wild antics she seems to be involved in, the singer has over 40 charities and organizations she contributes to. Her most recent project is the Happy Hippie Foundation. Founded by Cryus herself, the nonprofit organization is devoted to helping homeless youth, LGBT youth, and other vulnerable populations. Feeding America, Make A Wish Foundation, and the Red Cross are just a few others that Miley is involved in.

James FrancoLike many of these other stars, the scandalous Oscar nominee James Franco is another prime example of a bad boy with a kind heart. This famed actor, filmmaker and teacher does more than just post racy pictures on Instagram. In fact, Franco has teamed up with REPRESENT multiple times to create specialized t-shirts for his fans, and portions of the proceeds have been donated to the 826 National Charity. When the actor isn’t bust creating totally meta t-shirts, he also donates to the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Hillsides, Communities in School, and DonorsChoose.org.

Chris BrownThis star isnn’t the only one with a surprisingly kind heart! When artists like Chris Brown aren’t fighting over Baby Momma drama online, he is involved with Syonphonic Love Foundation, Stand Up to Cancer, the Get Schooled Foundation and AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Ashley OlsenAshley Olsen, actress and fashion designer, also is a member of the giving committee.  Now that her Full House days are over, the Olsen twin has her fingers and even her whole hand, in organizations and charities such as Free Arts NYC, The Toy Mountain Campaign, Skid Row Housing and The Art of Elysium.

Willie NelsonCountry music star Willie Nelson may be best known for hits like Always On My Mind and On The Road Again, and fighting to make marijuana legal, what a lot of people don’t know about the Texas native is that he’s been involved with over 40 charities and organizations, through the year!. Some of these include Feeding America, Peace Alliance, Society for Animal Protective Legislation, United Way, and of course, the bigigie Farm Aid. Can’t you just  imagine him finding the time to toke up on all his good deeds afterwards?

Zac EffronPlayboy Zac Efron is known for having many faces, all of which are adored by women the world over, but this star does much more than just walk around being a sex symbol. The High School Musical star may have grown out of his baby boy good looks, but he still has his kind heart! The actor is associated with the American Humane Association, Music for Relief, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and The Trevon Project.

RihannaThe Barbados native and singer, the gorgeous Rihanna believes in so much more than just music, and making outrageous fashion statements to entertain the crowd. In 2006, the artist founded The BELIEVE Foundation, which is dedicated to providing educational, financial, social, and medical support when and wherever it is needed, for our youth. Rihanna has been quoted as saying “When I was young and I would watch television and I would see all the children suffering, I always said when I grow up, I want to help. Not long after I was in the position where I could help,  I started to visit all these children’s hospitals!  I still have a soft spot for kids, and  I just want to help, and make sure they are happy. They can come to a Rihanna concert, or have toys from Rihanna, or gifts at Christmas!” Other organizations and charities the star believes in are The Alzheimer’s Association, Shrivers Hospitals for Children, and Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

AkonNow whether you truly believe that their acts of kindness are genuine or not, it’s nice to know that more than just a few famed celebrities put their notoriety and fortune to good use. Even though the world seems to be more interested in keeping up with the Kardashians and Jenner’s antics, the fact that singer Akon just helped provide electricity for 600 million people in Africa; we know there is some hope left in the world, and sometimes, things really aren’t always what they may seem to be!

Sometimes, they can be oh, so much better.........And by the way, dear readers, so can you!
