Now you know that we know very well, that all you hipsters out there have heard of the 80/20 rule! That we only wear 20% of what’s in our closet, 80% of the time. The afore-mentioned 20% usually applies to classic items that pair well with many things, such as the versatile white t-shirt, the blazer that fits just right, and the shift dress that can take us from work to happy hour, just with the change of a shoe. So when you’re seeking the perfect element to amp up your basics, why not look to this season’s fun sandal trends. From fringe to floral, you can instantly update your looks with various fresh pairs of shoes, shoes and...... more shoes!

Many a festival IT-GIRL has been seen sporting some type of fringe this season, whether it’s attached to her hobo shoulder bag toting all her festival necessities, her 70’s inspired cropped halter top, or attached to the shoes on her feet. You can also go for an elevated version of the Bonnaroo favorite, a teeter-totter tall-fringed stiletto sandal. Your every day sandals can also be extra sexy, and on-trend, in bright colors with fringe details. Pair them with short-shorts or a really short dress to really show them off!

If stilettos aren’t your thing, you can still channel the trending 70’s throwback style with a chunky platform sandal, and (a biiiiiig plus!) you’ll look stylish without sacrificing comfort. And cool details like woven heels and brass studs can really make them stand out! Wear them with an on-trend denim skirt and tee shirt for a casual vibe, or to balance out a long and airy maxi dress.

Weekend warriors, this one’s just for you! Amp up your blah “I woke up like this” ensemble with a fierce pair of gladiator sandals. There are endless options to choose from, whether you want them to  just reach the ankle, or all the way up to the knee. Or you might prefer your vicious footwear to zip up or lace up, or feature a wild animal-like print, or a flexible, neutral color. Wear your foot-gear with a simple t-shirt dress for an easily style-stalker worthy summer outfit, or show them off with denim cut-off shorts and an oversize coat, à la Kendall Jenner!

Wearing the same dress to multiple weddings this summer? Or going out on dates with multiple guys? Change it up with a flirty floral heel! A sandal emboldened by a pretty floral print will not only instantly make your ensemble more interesting, but it can also present itself as  the perfect option to throw into your work tote, just-in-case for sudden, last minute evening plans. Wear them with anything and everything from dresses or skirts to ankle pants, but just as long as you aren’t wearing (naughty girl) a clashing print.

The funkiest (and most stylish) flat this summer is the squishy- and- colorful, 90’s-inspired jelly sandal. Jellies are perfect for any summer barbecue, picnic, or bike ride. They come in a ton of fun colors and prints and best of all, your heels won’t sink into the grass! Details like studs and a small, chunky heel make the favored shoe of every 90’s kid seem less juvenile. Or wear them with ankle socks for a more fashion-forward look!
