The leaves are turning into vibrant colors and fall is radiant in all its glory!. Ladies and gentlemen, October is upon us, and with it comes some very special (and fun) television premieres!  From spooky to super-powered, this month’s shows are sure to please-- and maybe even give you a few unusual ideas for a great Halloween costume!

Benders
Benders / Thursday, Oct 1 @ 10/9c / IFC
IFC’s first-ever ensemble comedy, Benders follows a group of guys obsessed by men’s hockey, specifically their own league team known as the Chubbys.  Like football or baseball, hockey has a hardcore fan base, the kind that get a little nutty from time to time, because of the passion the fans feel for the game. And the craziness might just be ten-fold more rowdy when it comes to hockey-- plus those guys like to fight! The cast of familiar stars include Lindsey Broad (The Office), Mark Gessner (Orange is the New  Black), Chris Distefano (Girl Code), Ruy Iskandar (Gotham) and Andrew Shulz (Guy Code).

Dr. Ken
Dr. Ken / Friday, Oct 2 @ 8:30/7:30c / ABC
Community and The Hangover’s Ken Jeong comes back to television, starring in his very own sitcom. Once a doctor in real life, before his acting career took off, this comedy powerhouse is finally playing a doctor on TV! Jeong plays the title character, a brilliant doctor who lacks any semblence of bedside manner (think a funny Asian House) and must balance the demands of the medical field with his own zaney family.

Truth Be Told
Truth Be Told / Friday, Oct 16 @ 8:30/ 7:30c / NBC
This new hangout comedy is about two couples who over-analyze and obsess over everything. You know, the kind of couples that drive each other and everyone else crazy. Mark Paul Gosselaar (Franklin and Bash) stars as Mitch, a college professor, and Vanessa Lachey (Dads) stars as his wife, Tracy. And of course, we can’t leave out the zany best friends and neighbors that normally accompany the star couple of such a show, Russell (Tone Bell) and Angie (Bresha Webb).

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend / Monday, Oct 19 @ 8/7c / CW
The CW goes off the deep end with their only new series this fall, a musical comedy called Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Rebecca Bunch (Rebecca Bloom), a determined and possibly crazy young woman, gives up her partnership at a law firm in Manhatten to move to the other side of the country, to sunny West Covina, California. Why the sudden and dramatic life change? Her ex- boyfriend that she‘s obsessed with lives there, and she’s determined to win him back, of course! This goofy new comedy blends modern humor with a touch of the musical-- as the stars break out in robust song whenever they feel in the mood! Unique and fun, don’t miss this entertaining new show!.

Supergirl
Supergirl / Monday, Oct 26 @ 8:30/7:30c / CBS
CBS takes a crack at the D.C super hero phenomenon with this lighthearted series! Life can be hard in National City, especially if you have to juggle a 9-5 work day, with saving the day. But it’s just another day in the life of Kara (Melissa Benoist), who just so happens to be Superman’s cousin and fellow Kryptonian. Kara’s trying to be a regular girl with a regular job and a regular hellish boss (Calista Flockhart), but her true calling is much higher than that-- she does have super powers after all. Unlike its counterparts The Flash and Arrow, this super hero drama brings a more feminine approach to the genre.

Ash vs Evil Dead
Ash vs Evil Dead / Saturday, Oct 31 @ 9/8c / STARZ
Thirty years after the events of Army of Darkness, horror survivalist and hardware enthusiast Ash has returned to battle the evil deadites once again! If you’re unfamiliar with our hero Ash, there is one thing you need to know- not even hell itself can take down this resourceful hardware store clerk. This 10-episode series, created by original director Sam Raimi and star Bruce Campbell, brings back the laughs and gore of the cult clasic Evil Dead franchise, with fresh faces joining in on the murderous mayhem. Added to the roster of stars is Lucy Lawless (Spartacus), Ray Santiago, Dana De Lorenzo and Jill Marie Jones. So grab your boomstick and strap on your chainsaw, because the evil dead are back!
