Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  If you are looking to change things up a bit for that special someone, or just want to send a simple message to your best friend, family member or co-worker; you don’t have to stress over what could possibly be simple and meaningful. A flower can speak a thousand words, and I don’t mean your typical bouquet of red roses. Many beautiful flowers say “I Love You”, they just mean a different kind of love. Finding the right flower, with a meaning that fits your particular relationship with that certain someone, can be much more meaningful than the status quo of Valentine’s gifts. Try one of these flowers instead of roses this year to show your loved ones you really care.

 Violets

This flower of modesty is a great way to say, “I’ll Always Be There” for a more delicate love. It isn’t too much, but expresses just the right amount of love and affection. Sometimes we walk a fine line of love and friendship.

Tulips

Tulips

Tulips have different meanings according to their color. For a new or delicate love, red or pink tulips are the way to go. If you are using this time to get back a lost love, white tulips symbolize forgiveness, and yellow tulips might bring out bright, cheerful memories to get things headed in the right direction.

Orchids

Orchids

If you are looking to spice things up, an exotic flower such as an orchid might be what you need. Representing a luxury type of love, beauty and strength; orchids will send you to a magical place. These flowers can help remind your partner of the adventures you have shared.

Lilies

Lilies, aside from tulips, are another way to rekindle a love or bring some happiness and elegance back into the mix. White lilies are perfect for representing class, style and beauty.

Iris

An iris can bring an inspirational love. Representing faith and hope, the iris will encourage a lasting relationship and celebrate the milestones along the way. They are also a great way to say "everything will work out".

 Gardenia

Signifying a more traditional love, gardenias symbolize purity, joy and an old-fashioned love that has lasted many years and hopefully many more to come. The gardenia is a great way to keep it classy and classic.

Succculents

Succulents

If you’re looking for something not so delicate, succulents are an exotic flower that adds a little flare and don’t require much care. Feel free to set these spicy flowers out as a continuous reminder of how sexy the two of you are.
