Country music stars and horses, could the two be more compatible? In her new book, The Power of Horses, True Stories From Country Music Stars, author Lisa Wysocky takes a look at this powerful and always heartfelt relationship, which many country music artists share. Eighteen artists are featured in the book including Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Tommy Shane Steiner, Kix Brooks of Brooks and Dunn, and Lynn Anderson, and they gladly share their horse experiences, past and present.
The Power of Horses is a result of author Lisa Wysocky's two main passions in life, country music and horses. She began as a horse trainer and writer of equestrian articles in national publications, but due to a knee injury her horse-training career was cut short. Lisa turned to her second love, music, and became a successful publicist in the Nashville music industry. She runs her own PR firm, White Horse Enterprises and, of course, continues to be an avid horse lover and admirer.
The superstars of country describe their feelings and emotions when they purchased their first horse; times when their horse came through for them in special way; or just touched their lives in a particular manner that they will always remember. Mostly though, the stars love the simplicity their horses bring to their lives. Spending time with their horses lets them retreat from the busy life of a recording artist.
