It may not be new, but this Fall fashion’s classic 1970s laid-back cool isn’t a bad inspiration. We’re already buzzing off a nostalgic high with staples like updated blouses in silks and satins, deep shades of purples and blues, and boots galore. Here we’ve zeroed in on our favorite trends and lent you a few hints on how to incorporate them into your current wardrobe.

Take your cues from jewel tone hues

This fall’s color palette is full of luxuriously rich tones. Think your grandmother’s jewelry box: rubies, sapphires and emeralds. You’ll see a variety of purples-deep gothic shades to almost burgundy-and vibrant splashes of teal making appearances in dresses and blazers. Don’t be afraid, be bold! Pair this season’s hottest colors—purple and teal—together. Editors’ Pick: City DKNY top, $79.50. (800) 777-4524 / Issue 48 - September 2018
