Once upon a time, summer meant nothing but repeats-but this year’s summer television line-up is better than ever with sizzling new dramas, outrageous reality shows, and hilarious comedies. So say goodbye to boredom and hello to a cool summer kicking your feet up in front of the tube.


EX-WIVES CLUB - Now airing Mondays (9:00-10:00 pm ET/PT)

Starring: Angie Everhart, Shar Jackson and Marla Maples

How do you mend a broken heart? By getting angry, getting even and getting over it! Real people who have undergone traumatic divorces learn how to move on with their lives, on “Ex-Wives Club”. The show is hosted by three women who know all about breaking up — famed “exes” Angie Everhart, Shar Jackson and Marla Maples. The hour-long, five-episode series, filmed in Palm Springs and on location across the country, will feature one man and one woman each week, all with one thing in common — a devastating divorce. The episodes will trail them and the “XWC” team of Angie, Shar and Marla as they take a journey to let go of the past, rebuild their self-esteem and venture out into the world again. The series is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning.

SHAQ’S BIG CHALLENGE - Begins June 26 airing Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Shaquille O’Neal

Childhood obesity is a fast-growing epidemic in the U.S. Obese children face a shorter lifespan due to weight-related illnesses such as increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. But hope has arrived for America’s kids. Shaquille O’Neal, a four-time NBA champion and a role model to millions, is on a quest to battle this scourge and help children across America live more healthfully.

NEXT BEST THING: WHO IS THE GREATEST CELEBRITY IMPERSONATOR? -Begins May 30, airing Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Jeffrey Ross, Lisa Ann Walters and Elon Gold

Michele Merkin hosts this show, which will audition thousands of people in Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas and Orlando. In each episode, a panel of popular well-known judges — comedians Jeffrey Ross, Lisa Ann Walter and Elon Gold — will use their razor sharp wit and comedic skills as they evaluate, critique and sometimes skewer celebrity impersonators based on how much they look, sound and act like the celebrity they’re pretending to be. The judges will determine who will go on to compete in the next round of auditions, until America votes for the final winning impersonator through a viewer voting system. The winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000.

TRAVELER - Now airing Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Matthew Bomer, Logan Marshall-Green and Aaron Stanford (as Will Traveler)

Jay, Tyler and Will are friends who have spent the last two years in grad school. They are about to depart on a summer trip when a simple prank of rollerblading through one of New York City’s most famous museums makes Jay and Tyler prime suspects in a terrorist bombing that destroys the museum seconds later. Hopeful that Will can help clear up this misunderstanding, they learn he’s been missing since the explosion and think he may be dead. They’re unable to turn to authorities when they realize they can’t prove Will even exists. In every photo from the past two years, he has managed to block his face. Who will believe them? Friends, family? Their friendship will be tested like never before as they try to uncover the truth, while avoiding detection by not only the FBI, but everyone in America who has seen their faces on TV as suspects in the bombing. Flashing back to the prior two years to illustrate the formation of this friendship and Will’s unpredictable behavior, this action-packed drama taps into our paranoia with pure adrenaline-fueled entertainment.

NATIONAL BINGO NIGHT - Now airing Fridays (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Ed Sanders and Sunil Narkar

This high-energy, interactive game of luck is based on the hugely popular American pastime “Bingo”. In each episode, three Bingo games are played in-studio, with the viewing public invited to play along for a chance to win tens of thousands of prizes. In each game, a contestant will race against the studio audience as balls numbered from 1-75 are randomly selected from a giant sphere set in a high-tech “Bingo Plex” arena. The studio audience will track the numbers on their own Bingo cards for a chance to win cash and prizes and send the contestants home empty-handed. Also, millions of viewers will be able to play along at home by printing out free cards via Cards for the upcoming Friday episode are available immediately following the airing of the current episode. FAST CARS AND SUPERSTARS: THE GILLETTE YOUNG GUNS CELEBRITY RACE - Begins June 7, airing weeknights (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Jewel, Tony Hawk, Serena Williams and William Shatner

Celebrities including Jewel, Tony Hawk, Serena Williams and William Shatner are dreaming of life in the fast lane, as they race to the finish in the new reality show, “Fast Cars & Superstars — The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race,” a seven-episode series. Twelve celebrity drivers will partner with the Gillette Young Guns, six of stock car racing’s most talented and popular drivers, to learn what it takes to win on the race track. The show will explore the interaction of top young stock car drivers with stars from the world of sports, music and entertainment, featuring drama and competition on and off the race track. The show will culminate in a one-hour long finale during which the celebrities will be coached from the pits by their Gillette Young Guns instructors and compete against each other during a time-trial race.

RUFFIAN (FILM) - Premieres June 9, 2007 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Starring: Sam Shepard

Sam Shepard stars in the inspiring horse racing drama "Ruffian," the powerful and emotional true story of the racehorse hailed as the greatest thoroughbred filly of all time. Shepard plays trainer Frank Whitely, who guides the filly's ascension into the public consciousness amid the backdrop of the ‘70s, a decade of equine superstars and Triple Crown winners. Ruffian's beauty and speed made her a memorable, but it was her match race with Kentcky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure that made her one of the most beloved horses of all time. The movie, which was shot in Shreveport, LA in 2006, also stars acclaimed actor, writer and director Frank Whaley as legendary sports writer Bill Nack. Famed Canadian film director Yves Simoneau helms this original production.
