This Fall 2007 season we’re being treated to an exciting new array of fashion, from innovative boots to chic coats to sizzling evening wear. The designers have pulled out all the stops to bring us exciting new styles, some made of innovative fabrics and fibres and others featuring retro elements like feathers and furs. Both charming and irresistible, this year’s styles will make you look hot, no matter what the temperature outside!

Brrrrrr, It’s Cold!
Staying warm outside when it’s 10 degrees is hard enough without trying to look good doing it. That is, until you try one of this season’s fabulous new coats! We’re seeing lots of trenches in both wool and leather. And don’t forget to throw on a chunky scarf for additional warmth.

Giles, $3,675 (green crocheted dress,center)
Jean Paul Gaultier (khaki, top left)
Alaïa (black leather with fur collar, bottom left)
Burberry, $12,250 (grey with fur collar, bottom right)

Skinny or Slouchy?
This fall you won’t have to choose between skinny jeans and baggy, wide-leg styles because they’re both in fashion. Switch between the two to add glamour to your average day and evening looks.

Sportmax, $475 (large purple pants, top left)
Gucci, $835 (black skinny pants with green light, bottom left)
Rock & Republic (black skinny pants, crossed legs, centered bottom)
Givenchy, $1,365 (black pant suit, hands on hips, bottom right)
Proenza Schouler, $895 (black wide pants, top right)

Best Dressed Day or Night
By day, simple, chic, woolen dresses are in! But by night, play it cool with 1920s flapper-inspired dresses that are showing up everywhere. Beads, sequins, fringe – it’s all back! Pair both styles with brightly colored tights for fresh appeal.

BOSS Hugo Boss (silver with pleats, top left)
J. Mendel (silver with fur on bottom, bottom left)
Marc by Marc Jacobs, $345 and Proenza Schouler, $3,545 (red and maroon, bottom center)
Via Spiga (black sequin, bottom right)
Oscar de la Renta (grey wool dress with gloves, top right)

It’s a Shoe-in! These Booties are HOT!

These short-boots hit just at the ankle and are sexier than ever. Pick your fit: peep-toes, stilettos or chunky-heels in every shade, style and fabric imaginable!

Giuseppe Zanotti Design (black with buckle, top right)
Giorgio Armani, $650 (tuxedo shoe, bottom right)
Derek Lam, $750 and Valentino, $895 (red and black peeptoe, bottom left)
Alexander McQueen (blue with gold heel, middle left)
Gucci (red, top left)

One, Two Buckle My…Belt?
Imagine patent leather semi-corsets that resemble ultra-wide, very ornate belts – think double and triple buckled with padlocks and chains. We’re not talking S&M here; wear them over your clothes, ladies.

Dolce&Gabbana (black corset belt, whip in hand, top left)
Bebe (large brown, lace-up, bottom left)
Belenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière (pattern coat with belt, center)
Dolce&Gabbana (metal wide belt, silver dress, bottom right)
Missoni, $1,400 (brown belt, flowy dress, top right)

Big Bodacious Bags
The oversized handbags we’re used to seeing just keep getting bigger. Look for a more structured style with great details like buckles, latches and locks. Also be on the watch for glossy, patent leather bags and super-trendy clutches.

Prada (two-tone large, top left)
Bottega Veneta, $4,800–$5,400 (pink croc, bottom left)
Tod’s (maroon bag, bottom right)
Juicy Couture (white with chain, left middle)
Fendi, $1,120 (green with multi-colored letters, top right) / Issue 74 - September 2018
