All you Project Runway fanatics who’ve been feeding your addiction with reruns can sit back and relax because your favorite reality show has returned! Dun Dun Dun! And for all you newbies, here’s what you need to know to catch up with the rest of us…

Project Runway first premiered on the Bravo network in December, 2004, bringing a complete wardrobe change to reality television. The concept is simple- challenge talented, up-and-coming fashion designers to create various garments based on specific guidelines. And challenged, they are.

Watch two shows (Wednesdays at 10 pm est), and you’ll be hooked! You’ll quickly pick out your favorite designers and if they’re good, they won’t get the boot…this week, at least.

Season Four has 15 fabulous new designers all competing for the chance of a lifetime. Supermodel Heidi Klum returns as host and as panel judge alongside Michael Kors, top fashion designer, and Nina Garcia, Elle Magazine fashion director. And of course, the show wouldn’t be complete without Tim Gunn, newly named Chief Creative Officer at Liz Claiborne, who serves as mentor to the contestants.

Rather than keep everything the same as in previous seasons, the producers have decided to add some variety to the challenges. Previously, each of the contestants had to complete the same tasks with the same requirements. But not any more, folks!

This season kicked off with a brand new challenge. Instead of creating a design from traditional household items, the competitors were given ten minutes to choose fabrics from three tents. On your mark, get set, go! Fifteen designers run like crazed animals towards the tents, frantically grabbing for anything that might be even remotely useful. And then they’re off to create a piece that best represents their personalities as designers.
Have you picked your favorites yet? We sure have! Go ahead…read ‘em!

First there’s Rami, striking features and all. He quickly proved himself to the judges by winning the first challenge. He’s gorgeous, he’s talented and he is very accomplished. What more could we ask for? Next up is Se_or Ricky. He’s so energetic and so passionate about everything he does that you can’t help but want to root for him. And then there’s Christian. Darling Christian. He’s the youngest of the group with a quirky personality and almost geek-like charm. And last, but most certainly not least, is former model Carmen. She’s bold and beautiful, and she knows what looks good.
Now let’s just hope they can all stick around…

This new season promises to keep us all entertained and coming back for more. (Like we wouldn’t keep watching anyway!) As in the past, one designer will be eliminated each week based on his/her performance and design during the challenges. The final three designers will compete during Fashion Week in New York City for a chance to win $100,000 cash to start a new clothing line, a 2008 Saturn Astra and the opportunity to sell a fashion line to Bluefly.com. Good luck to them all!!
